If a student is having fun playing music that is what is important but if they are in a band and their rate of improvement slows to the detriment of the group, it may cause problems with the other players. Sometimes it may be the student has progressed faster than the rest. In both these cases a band meeting will be called to discuss what the best way forward for all is.<\/p><p>Apart from music and performance skills we promote positive self-regard, socially responsible values, and leadership skills. This is achieved through a demanding music programme of performances and rehearsals.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>We show young people how to work together towards well-defined ambitious goals, with music education and the performing arts as a medium.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0We ensure that they have the knowledge and skills that is necessary to complete a long and, at many times, a demanding process to see a project through from beginning to end.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0We enable them to earn the kind of success which comes only through perseverance, dedication and teamwork.\u00a0 It is an experience that enables them to grow into responsible and successful adults, and one that they will hopefully remember for the rest of their lives.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>At the end of their time with us they will leave with far more than musical education. Students who are not following the principles as explained in this leaflet will be expelled.<\/p><p>The second thing that happened at the same time was a guy whom I had met at the time Ian Appleby invited us to play at The Wickerman Festival and I accepted. I knew we had to up our game to play at it. On hearing that Loud n Proud was invited to play The Wickerman my son Jamie told me that his band would have liked to go too. I thought, why not? I suggested we make up a band with my band which was percussion, vibraphone, xylophone, marimba, and some brass with his rock band.<br \/>It soon took shape as an 18-piece band playing classic rock and off we went to the Wickerman. I called it The Rock Orchestra, and, on the day, we were due to start about 12.30. I was a bit apprehensive and thought maybe nobody will turn up. The gig got started and when people passing heard the tunes, they flocked in. The Rock Orchestra blew the place apart. We ended up getting invited back for 3 years. Come Monday morning we started the School of Rock.<\/p><p>Today Loud n Proud has for over 20 years been at the forefront of the development of young musicians and bands in Renfrewshire and Scotland. We have created a place for talented, hardworking young musicians and performers to thrive.<br \/>We have worked with an incredible mix of young people. Several have won National titles while most just love to make music in a safe and inspiring environment. The high number of students that have become full-time professional players, teachers, technicians, and music managers is a testament to the high-quality output of our work with young musicians.<br \/>Loud n Proud has had an amazing impact on young people\u2019s confidence, social practice, concentration, creativity, and general outlook on life. Although money is important for us to pay for the purchase\/ repair of equipment and running costs. It is not a business set up to make a profit. We exist solely to create performers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your child does not improve due to not practicing or a low attendance rate, we will contact you and arrange a meeting to discuss our concerns. If a student is having fun playing music that is what is important but if they are in a band and their rate of improvement slows to the detriment of the group, it may cause problems with the other players. Sometimes it may be the student has progressed faster than the rest. In both these cases a band meeting will be called to discuss what the best way forward for all is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apart from music and performance skills we promote positive self-regard, socially responsible values, and leadership skills.
